The Agency Art House Debuts New Art Staging Service at Iconic Mulholland Drive Property
The Agency Art House
, led by art dealer and advisor Arushi Kapoor, recently unveiled its highly anticipated art staging service at a Mulholland Drive open house, at a property listed by The Agency’s Craig Knizek
and Scott Gorelick. Setting a new standard in luxury real estate service, the debut event was hosted at 16401 Mulholland Drive
, where Kapoor’s team transformed the property into an immersive, pop-up gallery experience, demonstrating how carefully curated art can elevate a home beyond traditional interior design and furniture staging.
“The owner is a seasoned developer used to working with the best staging companies,” said Craig Knizek, Managing Partner of The Agency Sherman Oaks, Studio City and Calabasas. “He was extraordinarily glad he took the risk to have The Agency Art House install the art. He felt he couldn’t have received better service at a compelling price point, with truly unique and dynamic art that elevates his project.”
Kapoor’s team begins each project by studying the home’s design, from architecture to the flow of natural light and the selection of textures and tones. They also consider sightlines and focal points. “From there, we apply principles of environmental psychology—how scale, color, and placement affect mood and perception,” she shared, to ensure each artwork enhances the space. The result is a balance that honors both the home and the art, drawing buyers into an experience that feels authentic and emotionally resonant.
“This property was the perfect canvas,” Kapoor explained. “Its architectural presence, textured walls, sweeping views, and detailed interiors provided a striking backdrop for art that showcases skill. We wanted guests to immediately experience how the right works can heighten a property’s atmosphere, turning it into something unforgettable.” Kapoor worked closely with Sandlot Homes to bring this property’s vision and aesthetic to life.
The evening featured a panel discussion with The Agency’s Billy Rose,
Scott Gorelick
, and Paul Lester
, as well as CEO and Founder Mauricio Umansky. They explored how art can transform a property from impressive to show-stopping, by layering luxury experiences that captivate guests, and inviting them to envision themselves living there—all the while enhancing the home’s potential value.
Panelists also highlighted the strategic advantages of art staging. Craig Knizek emphasized that it can be an advantage in securing new listings, while Mauricio Umansky noted how it provides guests with an experience that evokes emotion. Kapoor spoke to this capacity for creating emotional connection. “Art turns a beautiful house into a home someone can feel. It shapes how we perceive scale, light, and warmth, triggering an emotional response that makes a buyer feel they already belong.”
Attendees, including agents and collectors, were inspired by the interplay between architecture and the artworks. It sparked new ways of thinking about the role of art in real estate. Kapoor shared, “One of the most meaningful moments for me was hearing Craig and the developer share how the staging had completely redefined how they envisioned marketing and ultimately selling the home. They felt the art didn’t just complement the property; it gave it a soul.”
The launch represents a pivotal moment for The Agency Art House. Kapoor explained, “This event marks the formalization of a service we’ve been quietly building for years: working directly with galleries and artists to stage properties in a way that is both visually transformative and financially strategic.”
Her team wants to demonstrate what’s possible when museum-quality art is paired with architectural vision. Art staging by firms focused primarily on interior design is often uninspired, misaligned with the caliber of the home, and expensive due to the costs of acquisition and storage. On a practical level, this new service makes high-level art staging more accessible—often 30 to 40% less expensive than traditional models—while maintaining curation that meets the expectations of serious collectors. “Emotionally, it’s a promise to bring more storytelling, more cultural depth, and more authenticity into the way homes are presented,” said Kapoo
Of the genesis of service, Kapoor said, “The Agency Art House staging was created to turn extraordinary homes into unforgettable experiences—practically, affordably, weaving great-quality art into their very fabric so that every space inspires emotion, tells a story, and captivates buyers long after they leave.”
For agents in competitive markets, Kapoor’s advice is clear: “Art can be your most powerful differentiator. Think of art staging as a strategic tool in your selling arsenal. It guides a buyer’s eye, influences perception, and creates an emotional through-line from the moment they step inside. It’s about giving your listing a story, a soul, and a competitive edge that photography alone can’t achieve.”
The Agency Art House Staging is currently available in Southern California, with expansion planned for Aspen, New York, Miami, Seattle, and Northern California. Agents and clients may inquire by contacting Arushi Kapoor at arushi@theagencyarthouse.com.
